The students in my classroom are coming to our school from the surrounding community. My classroom is unique in that we have gifted students as well as ELLS. Our district is a Title I district. Therefore we educate students that live at or below the poverty line and do not have access to much at home. School is a time where the students are able to flourish and grow. Providing my gifted students with materials to meet their needs has become my number one goal. Teaching gifted learners means that we need to take a different approach to traditional learning. The students in my classroom take lots of ownership for their learning. Due to the current movement of this generation, students learn quickly at home how to engage with devices. Technology drives lots of instruction and because of that we try to create a similar environment at school.
