Right now, my students are limited to the resources that the school has to offer. One of our latest labs was a chicken wing dissection, with rusty scalpels and dissection trays with missing sections. The students continue to use these, because it still give them the application of science to the real world but they all know that we could have newer, updated materials as well. The lab materials will give students concrete understanding to the course material, and give more meaning to Science in general. These lab materials will help to emphasize the real world skills and hands on laboratory I like to create for my students. It’s not enough to read science -- I feel that students need to DO Science to understand it.
