Studies show that the more contact students have with books, the better readers they become. Unfortunately, many of our students do not have access to books at home. As a teacher I can help increase student reading levels by reading to them daily, inviting community readers to read to them and having them interact with books through an extensive use of a classroom library. By donating to our project you will be providing my students access to a wide range of reading materials that reflect varied abilities and interests. Having access to a rich classroom library, you can help me promote greater amounts of reading, increased reading frequency, and more diverse reading experiences among my students. The greatest benefit would be helping me help them attain greater levels of reading achievement.
