In today's world, the ability to use technology and math is of utmost importance. Students need access to resources and technology from a young age in order to be successful in high school, college and in their future careers. Students without access to this technology are at a distinct disadvantage. Graphing calculators are essential to learning Algebra 1. Currently, my students do not have graphing calculators and are using calculators that do not have the capability to do the advanced math problems they will be learning. Not having access to this technology puts them at a disadvantage compared to their peers in other school districts. In order to help my students my students succeed in this class and future math classes, they need access to this technology.
