The Kemtec Ballistics kit I have requested will allow my students to calculate projectile trajectories using an evidence map, ballistics blocks, and trajectory rods and to reconstruct the Sacco and Vanzetti shootings using string and lasers. Students will also use gunshot residue analysis and will characterize ammunition using inactive dummy cartridges, fired bullets, and casings. Students will be able to apply the knowledge gained from this hands-on experience as they complete their culminating project and create their own crime scenes for their peers to solve. Since most of this kit is not consumable, I will be able to reuse it in classes in future years.
