There is a troubling lack of books in my middle school, yet research shows that my students must become readers if they are to succeed academically. With your help, we can create a class library that will encourage independent reading. I have specifically selected books that my students have requested. As a test, I personally bought the first book of some of these series or authors included in my reading list so that students could tell me their favorites, and these were the ones most requested. I believe these books will help even my most reluctant readers to learn to love reading and allow my English language learners the additional supports they need to understand and enjoy the stories that they read during silent reading in class. With your support, my students will finally have a large enough selection of books to meet the needs and desires of everyone in my classroom. Thank you for your patronage!
