Right now our school utilizes a projection system. I have noticed that a lot of instructional time has been interrupted by me having to run back and forth between my laptop and the front of the room to switch to the next slide, example, or story page. Not only does this ruin the flow of the lesson, but I fear it disrupts students from steadily achieving that "aha" moment - especially if the laptop has remained idle on one thing and has difficulty resuming connections. Not only will this device help with maximizing instructional time and fluidity, but my hope is that it will also provide more active engagement in whole group lessons. Right now we use a curriculum that offers an abundance of interactive learning games that coincide with our weekly objectives. Unfortunately, these games cannot be accessed on student devices and if I wanted to utilize these resources with students, I would have to sit behind my computer and click on their behalf, which takes away all of the student-led interactions. What I have gained through researching possible solutions is that this device has the capability of changing any whiteboard into an interactive SmartBoard, which would enable students more hands-on interactions with the material. I would love to provide them with the opportunity to click/drag, match, write, and more during our whole group instruction - it just seems so much more meaningful than me having to sit behind a computer and click a button on their behalf. Any help achieving this goal would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for taking the time to consider funding my project!
