iPads are truly a lifeline for moderate/severe special needs students with autism and intellectual disabilities and the people who work hand-in-hand with them. For these students, iPads act as a translator, communication, and an individualization tool with unrivaled effectiveness. They also reduce frustration and build confidence in my students. Many of my students do not have the means to afford their own iPad for use at home. By giving them the chance to use technology at school, we are able to open up a new world of learning opportunities to them and we are helping to build on their technology skills.
