The area rug will: -help us have a common meeting place for direct instruction. -help students learn social skills by making them be in close proximity to each other. - allow the students to have an individual spot on the rug so they can feel ownership over their classroom space. - allow the students to actively participate in read aloud and other literacy instruction. -help students have a place to sit during morning meetings to learn our Caring School community curriculum. -allow students to have a space other than their desks to sit if they need to take a break.
