I am currently teaching in the Milwaukee Public School System. Our classrooms are inclusive and this can be daunting, as teachers we need to modify instruction to meet the needs of all learners. My students have a wide range of learning needs we commonly see in culturally diverse public schools. My students match the list of characteristics associated with this demographic. An example would be special needs learners working with language-based learning problems, attention problems, weak reading skills which interfere with learning across all academic areas, and lastly, different cognitive abilities in reading. The one thing all my students have in common is their love to explore, and their desire to learn more. My students are wonderful. I love giving them the opportunity to grow and think.
