School should be a place filled with learning, engagement and comfortability. No student should feel unease in their classroom. In addition to their desks or "home plate", they will use these resources to create a variety of spaces to work in. They have requested utilizing standing work tables, floor tables (with the wiggle seats), and a combination of pillows and lap desks for versatile seating options when working in collaboration with each other. I have worked with our custodian to secure the tables with the correct height - we just need your help with the rest! Flexible seating is important for students - especially those who need help improving their self-regulation and building trust. My goal is to provide a comfortable space for students to interact and feel at ease, allowing them to build their socioemotional skills as future community leaders.
