My students are limitless. While they may be seen as limited due to their disability, I see the light and potential in their bright and beautiful eyes everyday. They learn from someone who wants to see them thrive and succeed now and in the future. They are beyond compare and it is my hope that as they transition in life, my classroom remains the roots for that growth. My school is in a district with 78% free and reduced lunch. It is located in a high poverty area within southeastern Louisiana. My classroom is one of two in the district that specialize in the education of Pre-K children who are deaf and hard of hearing. It is a school that is embedded within the community, that works for the community and is seen as a resource for the children and their families.
