Teaching is such a rewarding job, but one of the greatest difficulties is keeping the crowded classroom of 31 2nd graders engaged in the challenging curriculum through the use of constantly changing technology. It is important for my students and me to be able to move around the classroom and have unobstructed access while teaching with the whiteboard. Our school is a high achieving school, both academically and technologically, in a small suburban community. Our parents are highly educated and have high expectations for their children. Most of our students perform at or above grade level while we also serve a handful of ELD and special needs students. ALL students deserve and need access to technology that will keep them engaged, progressing, and reaching their unlimited potential. As their teacher, it is my responsibility to bring the latest computer technology into my classroom. The high standards and challenging curriculum require technology in the classroom for today's standards.
