Having these books will enhance student learning because it eliminates the distractions that come with using tablets or cell phones to access digital texts. In preparation for the AP Literature exam, we want to read a variety of texts like Heart of Darkness, Beloved, and Things Fall Apart. Students are excited to hold an actual book in their hands, and when they do, they become intimately involved with the literature. They will be able to interact with the books in a way that engages them in student-led discussions and facilitates their ability to make discoveries of what is in the literature. No matter how much technology advances, my students still get excited when they are able to hold an entire book in their hands.
