Students these days are so consumed my visual stimulus. Television and video games has taken away from reading as a form of entertainment. Fortunately, students are not relying on these types of entertainment while at school eight hours a day, they must rely on books. This seems like a "no other choice" type of option however, if students are not provided with interesting book options with pretty, updated covers and topics they are instantly uninterested and tend to stare at pages, rather than read them. Lions love L.A.M.B.S.S. (Literature and Math Brighten Student Success) is a new school wide program that focuses on correlating high interest, up to date literature with mini math lessons.
