Having flexible seating available for students in my classroom will allow them to learn in the way that they are most comfortable. Studies have shown that sitting for long periods of time does not assist in the learning process. Gone are the days of students sitting in rows, upon rows of desks. Allowing students to have a choice in the way they learn empowers them and gives them ownership over their education. Having various seating options will not only give students options but will also allow me to move around the room easier which will allow me to work with students individually.
