Our students live in Melrose section of the South Bronx. They are from countries all around the world, such as Ghana, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Guyana, Mexico, just to name a few. My class is a self-contained special education class in a community school, with students with various specials needs such as learning disabilities and speech , language impairments and autism. My students work extremely hard all day long, but still struggle with grasping academic concepts.
