This will give students the opportunity to learn about drama outside of the classroom. They will go beyond the four walls of our class and have an unforgettable experience. Most of our students have never attended a play or live drama. The performance of A Christmas Carol at Trinity Repertory Company is a yearly tradition shared among numerous schools, families, and friends. It is a must-see performance if you live in this community. I have been trying to keep this tradition alive with all my students who pass through my room. This will be my 4th year taking students on this trip. Each year, I take 5th graders to see the production. Then after, we come together as a community and put together a service project to help our homeless population around the holidays. My students collect any items needed by local agencies and shelters to help others in need get through the harsh winter months. Therefore, taking them to see A Christmas Carol helps us get into the spirit of holidays. We always love to give back!
