Students in this field require support in three main areas, self-advocacy, aural training, and vocabulary support. Students with a hearing loss would benefit from learning how their hearing is affected and how they could self-advocate to better their educational as well as personal experiences. A model of the ear will help them not only understand their hearing loss but have a visual of their understanding. Due to these students hearing losses, aural training and vocabulary support are also essential due to students missing different parts of speech. The magnetic alphabet will allow students to practice using their fine motor skills and interact with the vocabulary. I plan to research as much as possible to learn new and interactive manners on how to engage these students and close the educational gap.
