My classroom is built on a foundation of mutual respect where students can feel comfortable to learn in a collaborative and meaningful way. As students in a diverse and urban setting, the best resource these students typically have at their disposal is their brains. Devoid of all the bells and whistles, our classroom thrives on the power of the human brain. We rely on imagination, creativity, collaboration and reflection to elevate our learning to the highest level. I set the expectation that every single student should strive to be an example for the person next to them so that all scholars are in a healthy and challenging environment to keep pace with their peers.
