The set of books I am requesting will help make a memorable read aloud more engaging for my students. Rump, written by Liesl Shurtliff, retells the classic tale of Rumpelstiltskin from a new perspective and expands the storyline in an amusing manner. It allows the reader to experience this fairy tale world from Rump's perspective. Have you ever been captured by a book series? Last year's class was captured by Rump, and I aim to more effectively share this fantastical tale again this year by providing each student their own copy of the text during our read aloud time. Additionally, I would like to provide opportunities for my students to participate in Book Clubs with other "fairly true tales" by Liesl Shurtliff. This series also includes the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, and Red Riding Hood.
