Your generous donations to my project will help to make a great impact in the lives of my students. Children need to be able to read texts fluently in order to fully engage with a book and make meaning. When children read "just right" texts, they are better able to apply strategies that help them to monitor, and build, their comprehension. When children are able to do this independently, they can then begin to enjoy and build a love for reading. This, in turn, will help to boost the children's confidence and also help to create a life-long lover of reading! With these leveled texts, my students will have books readily available to them that are centered on their independent reading levels. Our school is implementing a brand new reading program this upcoming school year that specifically focuses on children being able to self-select texts of high-interest, and these leveled texts will help with just that!
