Most of my students have not seen the world outside of their own impoverished neighborhoods of our school. The 900 student 6-8 public school is mid-range in terms of test scores, yet with our school focusing academic attention to English Language Development,and basic skills, science, social studies, art, and music has fallen by the wayside. My 6-8th graders are very curious about the world around them. They show an eagerness to experiment and create. Teaching and learning with the latest technology will create career and college ready young adults .
