My students are from a large urban district in Houston, TX and often see school as the one constant in their everyday life. My goal is to give these young children a calm, welcoming, and safe environment to learn and grow with each other. Students that feel safe and cared for in the classroom are more likely to learn and retain new vocabulary and information. Second grade is such an important year for students academically as they begin to learn the foundations for all upper-elementary learning.

About my class
