I teach a diverse population of 6th grade students at a 6th -8th grade middle school in Northern California. The students come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Our school is a fairly high achieving school, but we definitely have students who need the extra support. Although many of my students are high achieving and are supported outside of the school, some of my students come from struggling homes, often not getting the help needed to further enhance their education. Our school has implemented intervention classes to help those in need. We continue to seek new ways to engage both struggling and high achieving students.
