My students deserve quality and engaging literature to spark and maintain interest in reading. Students in my classroom will use these books daily to build their reading repertoire. Because education is changing every single day, so are the interest of my students. My school is a newer public charter school and we don't currently have access to a large collection of age appropriate books. As such, we are asking for books that would hold our interest and help build our classroom library. Third grade is all about taking the phonetic knowledge they learned in the first few years of elementary and building fluency and prosody in their reading. I would like my class to have access to a variety of different reading materials (fiction, non-fiction, culturally responsive) in order to enhance their love for reading. Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is perfect way to build better readers. Please help my class become strong, passionate, lifelong readers!
