I chose many topics that I think would interest my students. Some books are recent, some were published when I was a kid, and some were true classics. I want my students to read every type of book so they have the opportunity to pick a genre/topic that best fits their interests. With a wider selection of books, I am able to diversify my library and make it accessible to every ability level. I want my library to gravitate towards my students rather than just sit there for decoration. I want my students to WANT to and CHOOSE to read.
