My current curriculum focuses on a lot of classical literature that has been read for decades. Students have a difficult time connecting to these books and it can be difficult for them to get excited to read. Right now, we don't have the budget to buy new books. As we study poetry, I would like students to be able to choose a verse novel that has a range of diverse characters with experiences that my students can connect to! By donating to my project, students will be able to work in book groups, select which book they want to analyze, and find joy in reading.
