My students are Limited English Proficient children living in a low socio economic area. I have 24 students, fourteen boys and ten girls, in my first grade class. Three of my students have severe behavior and four cannot speak English. They are eager to learn although difficult with so many distractions? They attend a struggling elementary school in California that has been affected greatly by budget cuts.
