One of the most enjoyable parts of being a teacher is finding out the types of books my students love. I created a “get to know you“ survey that gives me valuable insight into each student's likes. The fun begins when I start bringing books like the "Who Was" or "Dogman" series. Books are magic, and reading is opening the magic to dreams, goals, new adventures, and so many learning opportunities. My students will greatly benefit from having a variety of books in the classroom. The excitement is contagious when students are reading and engaged in the lessons being taught. They should also have the opportunity to read for simply the enjoyment of it.
