My students are ages three through five years old with varying disabilities. Speech and language impairments, developmental delay and autism are only some of the disabilities that my students have. My students are amazing. They have a love for learning that I wish I could bottle up and sell. Everyday they can not wait to find out what we will be learning. I would love to be able to provide them with the hands on print rich materials they need to develop a love for reading. These materials will not only help develop reading skills but will promote fine motor development, language skills and social skills. Our school is a basic elementary school Pre-kindergarten through 5th in a high poverty area. We are one of four pre-kindergarten classrooms in our school. Two of the pre-k classrooms are Headstart which receive additional funding through the state. However, my classroom does not receive funds to purchase additional materials.
