I could tell you our demographics and bore you with percentages or I could tell you why my students are so amazing. I serve students from age 3-7 years of age. These kids are on fire for reading! They are so excited each week to come to library. Many times their first communication with me is, "We get to read a new book today, right?" or "I know I brought my books back, so I am getting new ones (add a squeal).". It is amazing to watch them grow in their reading and many of the kids challenge themselves to get to the next reading level so they can get books they can read all by themselves. Each day I am in awe of their hunger for fiction, non-fiction, and even biographies. Our school as a whole truly works towards developing each child to their personal potential. We see many children that struggle and require adaptions to "the normal plan". This is very important even in library so that kids have a sense of confidence and accomplishment, no matter their reading or learning level.
