I teach 9th-12th Grade Literature at a small magnet school. Our school has been successfully teaching "at-risk" students since its founding five years ago. Although many of our students enter high school performing below state averages in math and reading, almost all leave our school admitted to city and state colleges. As a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools, we constantly seek to adhere to the principal that "less is more," studying our subjects with rigorous depth by practicing the skills essential to our disciplines.

About my class
