The materials in this wish list are crucial for providing our students with high-quality, rigorous laboratory and classroom experiences. In order for our students to leave us and be able to compete among all the other young people entering the workforce and college-setting, they need to be exposed to the same experiences.
A diverse supply of chemicals and biological supplies will allow the teachers at our school to provide laboratory exercises that are exciting and we will not be limited by our lack of resources. For example, in a biology class, students will be able to learn real-world techniques of obtaining and growing environmental samples using common objects such as their cell phones or door handles to see how many bacterium are in common places. In a chemistry setting, the wider-range of chemicals will allow us to provide inquiry-building lessons where students are able to, within parameters, design their own investigations because we will have the chemicals needed to give them choice.
These supplies are crucial for our being able to provide our students with the best experiences. We would really appreciate your help!
