I have 185 outstanding 8th grade students. They are full of energy and eager to learn. They seem to always succeed and understand ideas easier with an inquiry-based, hands-on approach and the use of technology!!! :) If you were to ask my students if they plan on going to college, most would say no. Others will be surprised that they were asked. My 8th graders live in a low socio-economic area and they spend their schooling moving from school to school. 165 of 185 of my students have low reading scores and become frustrated when reading our textbooks. On average, my classes are barely getting the grades to promote to high school.
