Adding some alternative, flexible seating to my classroom is a great way to get students excited about reading - the "Go Anywhere Chair" is simple, and lightweight, making it easy for kids to move around. In addition, adding the high interest superhero books helps kids realize that reading IS fun. At this grade, using chapter books to help create perseverance and appreciation for great storytelling is a must! Many of the students at my school are below reading level, so getting them excited about reading can be a challenge; therefore, offering a fun space, and a good book can help encourage them.
