All kids love to play! The dramatic play items (think: role play!) will allow my students to practice appropriate behaviors and learn about their world in a fun and engaging way, while the sensory items will allow my students to explore, imagine, create and learn while engaging their senses. These Legos, Hotwheels, and dolls will help my students build basic social communication skills with each other and the adults in their classroom in a fun way! Children with autism need lots and lots of exposure to a skill/task to build independence. We will use these materials daily to practice basic skills in guided learning centers, reading books, and watching short videos to go along with the central theme and model appropriate communication and behavior choices! We will share the learning with our students' parents, as well, to extend their skills beyond the classroom.
