All of my students want to analyze complex graphs and perform rigorous calculations. We currently only have enough classroom calculators to accommodate half the students. Additional calculators will provide every student with the opportunity to enhance their Algebra 2 skills and to build their confidence with using this valuable educational tool. These calculators will not only be helpful in my Academic and Accelerated Algebra 2 classes, but also with our Mathletes team members, who participate in extra-curricular mathematics competitions. In addition, these calculators will help all of our students become more comfortable with using a graphing calculator so they are better prepared for the SATs. The TI-84 Plus graphing calculators will promote student engagement, encourage student-centered learning, and improve critical-thinking skills. I would love to give all students the ability to deepen their understanding of mathematics. This tool can help them learn in a new way.
