"Down in the West Texas, town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl". Agh, the famous one-liner song from Marty Robbins. This is where I live with 189 kids. Where 189 kids go to a high school where diversity within the culture is present and the love of the community is shown. The word "COVID" will definitely be a different story to each individual; especially all of our kids, (students) throughout the world. Working from home has been quite a challenge in teaching Reading and Writing from an "at home" environment. I have 187 students this year and about 120 of them are from an extreme low income home, travel from Ciudad Juarez (it is 5 minutes from the high school), and are visual learners. With these materials, you will help me provide these kids with better, colorful visuals, multi-screen coverage, and overall, providing the best session (as if we were in class). If you have read this far into this, I thank you. Everyone and anyone taking the time to read through so many teacher requests through this pandemic. Be well. Be safe and soon, all teachers globally will once again say "good morning" to our kids, tell us about their day, share tears, and hug good-bye, once again.
