A love for literature and the lost art of reading are embraced in my classroom! I teach a wonderful group of students who are richly diverse, each bringing with them a unique multicultural perspective on the literature we study. In my AP Literature and English IV classrooms, students study multiple novels, plays, and poetry and relate them to modern notions and events. In my AP Capstone Seminar classroom, students learn to inquire, investigate, and research the world around them and argue and defend solutions to global issues help them become more engaged citizens. These students learn more than just English skills; they learn empathy, they learn tolerance, and they learn how literature helps to define history.
