Young children need independent, hands-on centers to reinforce their learning. File folder games, the Leveled Books Activity Box, Pop and Add to 20 Game, and Ready to Write! Prompt Box are wonderful ways to support students' learning in my classroom. As students explore, they master the standards at their own rate. What a fun way to learn as kids press the fun-to-use poppers, then add up the adorable ducklings! Using the Leveled Books Activity Box, students can choose to take a closer look at a book on their reading level and complete an engaging activity. Fun file folder games allow the children to measure using non-standard units, gather data to make graphs, practice defining shapes by attributes, and decompose numbers. I am a firm believer in reinforcing skills with hands-on activities in lieu of worksheets.
