Having working computers will allow my students to access their modified grade-level curriculum supports. At this time, I can only print the work for them to use, and reread passages as many times as a can until I have to move to another student. With working computers, the system that we use would be able to read the passages or questions to each student as many times as needed, and I will be able to focus on deeper comprehension of the material. It will also free up time, so I can have one-on-one time with students to address their specific needs. The curriculum we use has been proven to work wonders for students with Intellectual Disabilities, if used fully. It can check for understanding, bring up pictures to further understanding of math concepts, and even help teach life skills to students that will help make them productive members of society. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide these tools that the students need, due to a lack in classroom technology. With help from donors, my students will be able to learn beyond what we could ever imagine.
