Students need social interaction to become better students and citizens. Though much is learned in preschool and kindergarten, social development continues well into the elementary grades. Board games provide an awesome opportunity for students to interact and learn appropriate etiquette, manners, and sharing. Most second grade students are still learning the appropriate use of sharing and taking turns. These board games will provide a fun way to establish these qualities while also teaching academic skills and lessons. I have seen an overabundance of technology in my students lives. It's not unheard of in my school for 8 year olds to have iPhones or smart watches. This is a return to basics, establishing interpersonal communication through fun games.
