Help Improve Counselor Connections! A major focus at our school is making connections with our students and as a professional school counselor making connections is a priority for me. I work with 6th and 7th grade students in a 6th though 8th grade middle school in Georgia with a diverse student population. Our students have exciting personalities, interesting stories to share, great goals to strive for and a need to connect with adults in the school. Students have limited in class lessons with counselors & need an even more effective way to reach out and share their stories with their school counselor. My goal is to reach out to each of my students through "minute meetings," a way to connect with each student that I learned from other counselors around the country. I also want to be able to connect my advisement students to their learning through goal setting. More plans for the iPad after these initiatives!
