Breakout boxes / escape rooms are the hot topic in STEM teaching! The concept can be utilized to allow students to master a variety of skills by working cooperatively through a series of tasks and puzzles that give clues to the combinations needed to open the box / room. This will prepare students for further educational challenges, such as working toward graduation, getting into college, and success in the collegiate setting. Problem solving, working in groups, utilizing critical thinking skills, fostering independent learning are all major experiences that breakout boxes provide to students. My students would LOVE to have these breakout boxes!
