This year I started doing music centers with my students and have had great results. The centers allow them to practice the skills they have been taught in a fun manner and have included Musical Note Jenga, Musical Twister, and Treble Trouble to name a few. Adding a station where they will be able to create music on an iPad will raise the level of fun and learning exponentially! These materials will provide my students with a visual and kinesthetic way to explore music composition and coding at the same time. They will provide the tools that will not only connect with STEAM standards, but will also allow me to collaborate with my Literacy Content colleague on cross-curricular learning projects. The interlocking coding pieces will allow for a more hands-on way to engage students in the content. The visually engaging nature of the "Jam" program will allow my students to connect and explore musical composition in a meaningful, fun, and creative way! Any support you could give me on my first project would be most appreciated!
