As a first grade teacher, I strive to maintain a safe and positive environment for my students. They are dedicated to learning the first grade common core standards and truly want to be the best students they can be. The classroom environment is one of the most important aspects of my classroom since the majority of my students come from impoverished homes. 97% of our student population is on free/reduced lunch and have many barriers to overcome from their home environment. My students are willing and eager to learn and I have never had a class quite like this one. The world will be better place because of this young group of kiddos!
