My students are eager to learn, and show perseverance in the face of any obstacle. They face many difficulties in our neighborhood, so it is important to provide the safest and most enriching environment in school possible. They love hands on activities and task with real world problems, where they can apply what they learn. Many of my students are struggling readers and we have several newcomers with no English, but they all get very excited when they get to take books home. Parents have shown interest in helping their students succeed, but often do not have the RESOURCES or education in English to do so at home.
