My students are from rural areas mostly. Although they have access to technology at home through personal PCs and smartphones, ours school does not facilitate 21st Century learning. My students want to talk about current news and other real life matters. Instead, we are reduce to worksheets and obsolete textbooks. This does not mean that learning does not take place within my classroom. However, this does mean that students are not getting the full experience of an ideal classroom by today's standard. Our state fund a database called Magnolia that gives out students access to material our library can't provide. The problem we are having is equipment. Many times when we are trying to access videos or instructional tool, we get messages for updates. There is one tech person for the whole district and getting him out is almost impossible.
