As a motivating advocate for my first graders, I believe increasing the presence of STEM, specifically, technology and science, will benefit in educating students in the classroom. Headphones, for example, will help keep the noise level at a minimum while keeping learning at a maximum. The classroom is a noisy place on any day with the exchanging of ideas and normal conversation between teacher and student. Having headphones in the classroom means enormous possibilities to enhance learning and focus. Science is a favorite subject in our class! Students are excited about using tools and materials! These kits will help teach both the in-depth principles of science and the hand-on learning of science. It is great fun for students as they use science experiment kits in their learning process. Throughout the year, students will learn about the five senses, specific life cycles, such as, plants, frogs, and butterflies. The fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, otherwise known as STEM, are becoming increasingly important year after year. A curriculum that is STEM-based has real-life situations to help the student learn. Having activities that show real-life implication of STEM can pull together the ideas presented in school and help to show how they benefit our society and even our world as a whole. When technology is implemented, students are excited to learn and participate because it is fun and engaging. Science experiment kits make use of real life investigations that help students think about what they have learned and how to apply it when they go outside to discover, or while they are in the classroom.
